All About Our location
To our south, 8 miles is the town of Oakhurst,
and the Southern Entrance into Yosemite National Park.
Through this entrance guests will find the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Wawona &
all the amazing hikes off the Glacier Point road.
20 miles to our West is the town of Mariposa and the Arch Rock Entrance, this is the best entrance to use to go directly into Yosemite valley. This is also the best route if you’re traveling through the park to visit Toulomne Meadows. Hetch Hetchy or the Merced Grove of Giant Sequoia’s. 16 miles to our East you will find Bass Lake for summertime water sports. · Out of the way and a bit on there rough side. Nice deck with sunset view - I was alone and it was quiet quiet - the deck would be shared if others were staying there. Comfortable worn feeling. Lots of DVDs. 2 TVS were nice able to stream my own subscriptions and used air play on each. Nice drive to Yosemite - scenic all the way either route. About 90 minutes to the park entrances on a less than busy day.
· Light pollution - unable to see stars - understood the desire to light the secluded area for safety from parking to access - but strings of lights in parking and bbq area and other doorway lights where on all night. Unfortunate, and frustraiting as that was a big draw to staying there in a secluded and rougher area away from the town. Quiet except neighbors arrived at 2 AM and their car alarm woke me from a rare deep sleep - thought it was a fire alarm. The comfortable bed is on 2nd floor, the bathroom is on the first floor. No stove or oven - microwave. The window heater downstairs kept the upper room very warm as the heat rose quickly - while it was chilly downstairs. Deck area smelled of cigarettes - dirty ashtrays under wire tables at each entry. Local tv not available.
